In case you missed it , the Buffalo Bills are an unmitigated disaster. The latest example was cornerback Vontae Davis quitting the team at halftime of Sunday’s loss to the Chargers, dropping Buffalo to 0-2 on the season. Bengals linebacker Preston Brown, who enjoyed four productive years in Buffalo, is glad he’s not part of that mess. Brown, a fifth-year player in 2018 after spending the last four years in Buffalo, entered the NFL as a third-round pick (No. 73 overall) by way of the Louisville Cardinals in 2014. In four years with the Bills the Cincinnati native has played 64 games (62 starts) and compiled 512 tackles Bengals Alex Redmond Jersey , 3 interceptions (1 pick six), 2 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries and 1 sack. That all culminated with Brown helping lead Buffalo to a playoff berth in the 2017 season, marking its first postseason appearance since 1999. They ultimately lost to the Jaguars in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, which would be Brown’s final game in Buffalo before he ultimately signed with Cincinnati. The Bengals have signed a free agent linebacker every year for the past four years in hopes that they would plug up the middle. Each year, however , the middle linebacker position has been severely lacking. The Bengals appear to have finally found their guy to put beside Vontaze Burfict and Nick Vigil, while Brown found a team that could allow him to take the next step when it comes to his goals and aspirations. Brown secured a key interception in Week 1 that helped the Bengals ultimately beat the Colts 34-23. He missed Week 2 but is expected to return this week against the Panthers, who rank fifth in rushing offense. The Bengals will need Brown to step up in a big way this week to be 3-0 when Week 3 ends.Bengals vs. Colts inactives: Cedric Ogbuehi a healthy scratch The Bengals and Colts have announced their inactives for Week 1, and it features a pair of starters for Indianapolis, while Cincinnati has everyone healthy enough to play sans Cody Core. Here is a look at the Bengals inactives for the first game of the 2018 season:WR Cody CoreOL Cedric OgbuehiWR Auden TateDT Josh Tupou LB Malik JeffersonOL Christian WestermanRB Mark WaltonIt’s a bit surprising to see Cedric Ogbuehi is inactive, but then again , he’s easily one of the 4-5 worst players on this roster. The Bengals are better off seeing what Bobby Hart can do at right tackle. The only injured player was Cody Core, who was doubtful to play due to a back injury. He did return to practice last week, but with the Bengals having a quick turnaround before facing Baltimore on Thursday, Core is probably going to be inactive for at least the first two games of 2018. Auden Tate was the most interesting name to watch for. The rookie receiver has a lot of talent and is a nice red-zone target, but because he doesn’t offer much on special teams, he’s going to be inactive a lot as a rookie Youth John Ross Jersey , including today. You’ll notice Vontaze Burfict isn’t on here. He’s currently serving a four-game suspension and doesn’t count toward the 53-man roster, thus he doesn’t count as one of he seven inactives the Bengals must declare. Here is a look at the Colts inactives:OT Anthony Castonzo RB Marlon MackOT Denzelle Good WR Marcus JohnsonTE Ryan HewittDT Hassan Ridgeway OT Le’Raven Clark The big name for the Colts was Anthony Castonzo. He’s still recovering from a hamstring injury suffered in the preseason and was highly questionable for Week 1 after being limited throughout the practice week. This is a major loss for the Colts’ offensive line. Making matters worse is backup lineman Denzelle Good has already been ruled out with a knee/wrist injury. This is shaping up to be a game the Bengals’ front seven should dominate, and they’ll need to for Cincinnati to come out of Indy with a 1-0 record.Another player who was listed as questionable was running back Marlon Mack. He’s easily the best back on this roster, not to mention the kind of dual-threat back that Cincinnati struggles to defend.
